Even if writing doesn't go up that much I plan on getting math well into the 700s -i havent taken the act yet (Might do better than the sat) -i've met the georgia admissions rep or atleast one of them -i already have a somewhat. much either. I am aware that the Stern mba program is very hard to get into. What I don't know is that if Stern is equally as hard to get into for the undergrad school. The nyu website only has information on what it took the average student to get accepted, but nothing about the individual schools. It does at one point say "Admission to the undergraduate schools at nyu is highly selective. Though there are many similarities, the application process differs slightly from school to school." but that doesn't help me much. I have found all sorts of things about nyu on the internet such as it's easy to get in, it's hard to get in, stern is close to impossible to get in, you can only get in if you don't need financial aid, you have. What I need to know is if I have what it takes or even close to what it takes to get into Stern, and if not if another nyu school is possible (you can only apply to one of their schools). My college counselor says that she thinks I can get, but she has only sent one person to nyu so i'm not sure she knows 100 about what she is talking about.
That entails a good chunk of getting to know your upperclassmen, getting involved in classes, networking, and a crap ton of self-learning. The plus side is that upperclassmen who have gone through the process are golf extremely helpful, and having them as a resource definitely gives you an edge. The student body is about 500 per class, so naturally there is a fair amount of competition (which all goes away once people get offers post junior year recruiting). That being said, Stern is a target school for pretty much all the firms (esp. The big 4 and investment banks are literally 20 blocks away from school (10min subway ride and they come to campus for events every semester. Youll definitely get a fair chance at meeting these firms and interviewing with them (even if the competition is still tough). Ever since going to a college fair this past September I have been extremely interested in nyu.

Sridevi gave a great answer on the academic aspects of the school and I'd definitely echo her views. Ill try to add a bit of perspective on the other aspects of going to Stern. Overall: 1) faculty is strong, 2) target school for almost all companies, 3) proximity to firms make networking easier, 4) experienced upperclassmen are great resources for recruiting, 5) trade-off is that its less chill than say a college with a campus like uc berk, and. The first thing you have to realize is that Stern doesnt have a campus and thus does not feel like a traditional college. Living in the city has its perks, but its stressful, esp. I grew up in a college with a large campus so the differences were plan very glaring for. Stern kids tend to worry about recruiting early on (just because theres a culture of everyone worrying about employment starting in freshman year, and the topic of recruiting dominates a good chunk of conversations in school).
